Guwahati is the largest city of Assam and Northeastern India. Guwahati lies between the banks of the Brahmaputra River and the foothills of the Shillong plateau. The region around Guwahati hosts diverse wildlife and endangered birds. The city also houses many ancient Hindu temples; this resulted in it being named: 'City of Temples'.
